Twitter..??

So really.. Do I fail to understand.. or am I missing something..?? Where does Twitter make money.. and how..?? Or is it just one of those hype technologies which services marketers but fails to service self..??

After all these years I just learned one thing.
Never write off anything .. leave apart something spreading like wildfire ..
It’s much tougher to make something tens of millions of people will love …. than making money out of it(that just needs a few MBAs with borrowed ideas).

No questions about the concept.. I am simply trying to understand the business model. If it is a business out there and if it is getting investments, where are the returns coming from?
